The subtitle of this book says it all. The Gospel of John is my favorite Gospel because of the unique passages that we find there. The “I Am” statements from Jesus give us an incredible glimpse into the character and love of our Lord and Savior. Ramsey brings us 42 short devotional chapters looking at words from Jesus in the Gospel of John.
This books serves as a great study tool during Lent, or simply as a daily devotional digging deeper into John’s Gospel. Each chapter encourages the reader to see Christ, His life, and His Words as living and powerful for our own lives today. What is unique about this book is that each of the 42 chapters ends with a prayer as well as an insight from the Prince of Preachers himself, Charles Spurgeon, that pertains to the specific passage at hand.
I found this resource to be so encouraging for my walk and understanding of who Jesus is. You won’t regret slowly reading through this book, seeing the words of our Lord and Savior afresh, specifically how they have direct impact and power for our very own lives now.
