BOOKS – THEOLOGY – LIFE

The Old and the New: Christ as the Center of Both Testaments – Laurent Clemenceau

The Bible is ONE Story. This is such a crucial truth that impacts how we view the Bible and God, the author of the Bible. Clemenceau takes parallels that we see in both the Old and New Testaments and shows how Christ is at the center of the entire Bible. The New Testament uses themes in the Old Testament to present Jesus, while Jesus is himself the expectation of the Old Testament that finds fulfillment in the New.

Each chapter presents a theme, such as creation, family, covenant, people, sacrifice, temple, etc. and shows how Christ is the center and fulfillment of each one. It is a great book to use to meditate on the supremacy and centrality of Christ in all of history and the Christian life. It is also a great resource to use for explaining to others how unifying the Bible really is. It truly is a GRAND story written by God himself with such beautiful and intricate truths woven all throughout.

I highly recommend this book to get to know Christ our savior better, to inspire worship of Him as the very center of the Bible and the Word of God himself!
